What are the rules for pet travel in cabin class?

Allegiant Air welcomes small pets in the cabin class, but some conditions apply. Keep in mind that airlines will not allow you to travel with your pet if your arrival destination is international. Here is an overview of cabin class terms and conditions that you must keep in mind before traveling with your pet in cabin class.  

  • You may travel with domestic cats and dogs.
  • The pet carrier size should not exceed 9" H x 16" W x 19" D.
  • You may bring up to two pets.
  • The airline will charge you approximately 50 dollars. 
  • The pet must be eight weeks old. 
  • Pets should remain in their carriers at the airport and during the flight. If passengers do not follow these rules, the airline will deny them boarding.
  • The airline will not allow you to purchase exit row seats if you travel with your pet. 
  • You will not need to carry a pet health certificate. 

Pet travel as — checked baggage 

Under the Allegiant Airlines pet travel policy, the airline does not accept pets as checked baggage. However, you cannot travel with bulky pets whose size and weight exceed the cabin-class pet travel requirements. Allegiant Airlines does not transfer pets in the cargo area.  

What are the pet carrier guidelines?

  • As per pet carrier guidelines, the airline will not accept your pet carrier if its size is more than 9H * 16W * 19D. 
  • This airline allows each passenger to carry two pet carriers. Carry-on luggage would not include pet carriers.
  • Your pet carrier must be waterproof. 
  • You will need to get FAA approval. 
  • Allegiant Airlines charges a pet fee that is $50 per pet carrier.
  • If both pets are small, they can fit in a single pet carrier.  

How do you travel with service animals on Allegiant Airlines?

Allegiant Airlines' pet policy allows you to travel with your service animals. But you have to fulfill some terms and conditions, which are given in the points below.

  • Allegiant Airlines welcomes service animals on its flights without incurring a pet fee.
  • If you plan to travel with a service animal, you must complete a DOT Service Air Transportation form. 
  • You must provide a hard copy of the DOT Service Air Transportation form at the ticket counter. 
  • Disabled passengers may travel with two service dogs without paying the extra charges.  
  • If the service animal is under two years old and weighs less than thirty pounds, it can sit under the seat or on the passenger's lap.

Allegiant Airlines breed restrictions 

There are some pet restrictions when making a pet reservation. Before making a reservation, you must consider the terms and conditions. Only domestic pets, such as cats and dogs, are allowed on the flight. The restricted cats and dogs breed, and you can not travel with them. Pet Fees for Allegiant Airlines Pet Reservations

If passengers want to travel with a pet, they must pay the Allegiant pet fee.

They charge a $50 pet fee for one-way flights, so if your journey is round-trip, you must pay $100. This airline does not charge a pet fee for service dog reservations. 

If you are flying to or from the United States or within the United States/Canada, you will be charged a pet fee.   

Allegiant Airlines Pet Check-In

Pet check-in rules differ from normal check-in. As per the Allegiant pet policy, you will have to check in at the airport or gate counter at least one hour before your departure with your pet. The airline management team starts a check process at least four hours before your scheduled departure, so you must complete some paperwork at the ticket counter if you fly with your pet.
