Korean Air Baggage Allowance For Carry-on Luggage 

As per the Korean Airlines baggage allowance, you can bring one cabin bag and one personal item without incurring extra charges. Look at the points below to learn more about the carry-on baggage requirements.  

Cabin Baggage Requirements: 

  • As per the weight restrictions, the cabin luggage weight should not exceed 10 kg. 
  • You may carry two cabin bags if you travel in First or Prestige class. 
  • Airlines allow you to bring two cabin bags, each weighing no more than 18 kg. However, you will have to book your ticket in the First or Prestige class.
  • The cabin luggage size should not be more than 115 cm (20*55*40 cm). 
  • If your luggage is bulky, you will have to place it on an overhead bed.
  • If your luggage is not bulky, you may place it in front of your seat. 

Korean Air Check-In Baggage Allowance

Domestic Flights:

  • Economy Class: Travelers can check one bag in economy class for free, but its weight should not exceed 20 kg. 
  • Prestige Class: If your luggage weighs less than 30 kg, you may check your luggage free of charge in Prestige Class. The number of check baggage allowances is subject to additional charges. 

International Flights (Except the American/Brazil):

  • Economy Class: You may check one bag free of charge, but its weight must be less than 23 kg.

  • First Class: In this class, you will get more flexibility in comparison to the above class. You may check up to three pieces of baggage with the airline, each of which may weigh up to 32 kilograms.

Free Baggage Allowance For Standard Baggage

As per the Korean Airlines baggage allowance policy, the airline provides you more flexibility, when you travel with your infants or child. The airline will not charge you extra if you carry items for your infant or child. 

Infant:

  • Domestic Flight: One car seat plus one foldable stroller.
  • International Flight: One foldable stroller, one bag, and one car seat.

Note: The baggage weight should not exceed 10 kg. 

Child:

Domestic / International: Carry luggage the same as an adult one foldable stroller + One and one car seat.

Musical Instruments Korean Air Baggage Policy

If you travel with Korean Airlines, you are entitled to bring musical instruments on the flight. The musical instruments that you can bring with you, though, are subject to certain rules and regulations. 

  • The musical instrument size should not be more than 115 cm. 
  • As per the Korean Air baggage policy, you may bring small musical items free of charge if they are small or fit comfortable overhead bin.  
  • However, you may purchase an additional seat for your sports equipment.
  • The airline recommends that you pack your sports items safely because they can be easily damaged.  
  • You may carry your musical items as checked baggage. 
  • You will have to pay extra charges if your musical items weigh more than 32 kg.

Korean Air Sports Equipment Policy

As per the Korean Air baggage allowance, if you need to bring your sports items on a flight, the good news is that you are entitled to travel with your sports equipment. The maximum weight of sports items is up to 32 kg. The total dimension of sports items should not exceed 292 cm. If you do not pack your items safely or in a hard case, the airline will not be responsible for any damages.
