Qatar Airways Pet Policy & Fees

Are you planning a vacation with your favorite pet? The good news is that Qatar Airways allows you to fly with your pet. As per the Qatar Airways pet policy, you may travel with your service/emotional support dog free of charge. However, you may fly with your falcon in the same class. The information given below will be beneficial for you during your pet reservation.

What is Qatar Airways Pet Travel Policy?

As per Qatar Airways' pet travel policy, only falcons and service or trained dogs are eligible to travel in cabin class with their owners. Other animals, including dogs, cats, and birds, can travel as checked baggage or cargo space. Qatar Airways allows you to book your pet reservation at the same time as you book your ticket. 

Guidelines For Qatar Airways Pet Policy

You must qualify for the pet travel policy if you wish to travel with your furry friends. Here are some guidelines about Qatar Airways pet policy that you must fulfill when making a pet reservation. 

• You will have to make a pet reservation at least 48 hours before your scheduled departure. 
• You may provide food and water for your pet. 
• The Falcon can travel in the economy class cabin.      
• Airlines allow only six pets per flight, which depends on the destination. 
• You can carry only one Falcon in the economy class. 
• Qatar Airlines does not apply a pet fee to service dogs. 
• This airline does not allow dogs, cats, or birds in the cabin. 
• However, trained dogs may travel in cabin class with their owners. 
• Service dogs may fly free of charge as checked baggage. 

Qatar Airways Pet In-Cabin Policy

Under the Qatar Airways dog policy, service dogs may travel in economy cabin class free of charge. Qatar Airways permits passengers to bring one Falcon in the economy class cabin. Up to 6 falcons are eligible to travel with their passengers on each flight. The airline will charge you between 115 and 650 dollars, depending on your fare and route type. As per the pet restrictions, dogs, cats, and birds are not entitled to fly in cabin class. Within 48 hours before your scheduled departure, you must complete the pet reservation. 

Qatar Airways Pet Checked-Baggage Policy 

Qatar Airways allows pets on the flight as checked baggage. Under the Qatar Airways Pet Policy, if your pet does not qualify for the cabin class requirements, it will be considered checked baggage. If your pet travels as checked baggage, the checked baggage fee will apply to you. Only dogs, cats, tropical fish, small mammals, and birds are eligible to travel as checked baggage.

The following guidelines about pet checked baggage policy.  

• You will have to inform the airline about your pet reservation at least 3-5 days before your scheduled departure. 
• Submit a health certificate, which is issued within 10 days of your departure date. 
• To travel as checked baggage, the pet should not be less than 12 weeks old. 
• You must pay the pet fee at the check-in counter. 
• Qatar Airways will charge you a pet transportation fee between 200-400 dollars, which is based on your route type. 
• Rats, mice and rabbits can not travel as checked baggage.               

Qatar Airways Pet In-Cargo Policy

Qatar Airways permits pets to travel in the cargo area. If the pet weighs more than 75kg or is unable to meet cabin class terms and conditions, the airline will transfer your pet to the cargo area. Only large pets are eligible to fly in cargo class. Dogs, cats, horses, and other large animals can travel in cargo. You will need to contact a cargo agent who will reserve your pet in the cargo area. 

You will need to submit a pet vaccination certificate if your flight is international. If the temperature is more than 45 degrees where you want to go, the airline will not accept your pet in the cargo area.      

Reservations

You must contact the Qatar Airways Help Support Team for pet reservations. However, you can make a pet reservation online or offline. This airline permits you to book your pet reservation through a travel agent. 

Pets Allowed

As per the Qatar Airways pet travel policy, only falcons and service dogs are permitted to travel on Qatar flights. You can bring only one Falcon in the Economy Cabin class. Whereas you may travel with your service dogs without paying the pet fee. 

Aircraft Restrictions

There are certain restrictions for pet reservations. You cannot carry more than falcons in the Economy Cabin class. The airline allows only service dogs and falcons on the flight. You will have to make a pet reservation 3-5 days before your scheduled departure.

Forms Requirements

You will need to submit a health certificate, a pet vaccination certificate, or other required documents. If your flight is international, you will have to complete some documentation work.     

Temperature Restrictions

As per Qatar Airways, flying with pets rules, pets will not be allowed on the aircraft. If the temperature is more than 29 degrees or below 7 degrees,  

Qatar Airways Pet Fee

The checked baggage fee will apply to you if your pet travels under the checked baggage rules. If your flight is to/from Qatar and your weight is less than 32 kg, you must pay the 200 dollars and 300 dollars fees to apply if the pet weighs between 32-75 kg. The airline will charge you a checked baggage fee of up to 400 dollars if you travel to/from other routes except for Qatar. In cabin class, pet fees go up to 630 dollars, which is based on your route type.  

Qatar Airways Pet Carrier Size

You need to purchase a pet carrier, which should be sufficient for your pet. Keep in mind that the container must have enough ventilation holes, and it should be lockable.    

• The container length should be according to your pet's length plus ½ the length of its leg. 
• The animal's height should be the same as the height of the animal carrier.
• Pet container height must be 2x your pet's height. 

Qatar Airways Pet Policy Emotional Support/Service Animal

Qatar Airways allows service animals in the cabin class. This airline does not charge a pet fee for a service or emotional support pet. The pet can travel in cabin class with its disabled owner. Some countries do not allow pets on flights due to government rules. You must review the pet policy. You will be required to submit some needed documents and fill out a pet reservation form. You must submit a pet health and vaccination certificate to travel with a service animal.
