Alaska Airlines is aware that pets play an important role in many people's lives. For this reason, airlines have designed pet policies that allow pets to travel on Alaska flights. In this flight, few pets are eligible for travel with their owners. Pets are allowed to travel on Alaska Airlines in cargo or cabin class, depending on the size and type of pet. 

Alaska Airlines Pet Policy

If you plan to travel with your pet, the good news is that you can bring your furry friend on Alaska Airlines flights. If your pet fulfills the pet policy conditions, you must obtain approval from the airline's pet carrier. You should have a pet health certificate which is issued by a veterinarian.

Pets Allowed In Alaska Airlines Pet Policy

Only small birds, dogs, and cats are permitted on Alaska Airlines flights. If you have these kinds of pets and want to travel with them, then you can easily do so. If your arrival destination is Hawaii, you can not carry your birds on this flight. Keep in mind that your pet's weight should not be more than 150 pounds, including the carrier. You will have to pay a one-way fee that is approximately $150.

In-Cabin Pets

  • You can only bring two pets in cabin class.

Cargo Pets

Cargo pets are those pets whose size & weight are more than the maximum limit. If your pet's size is too large, Alaska Airlines will transport your pet into the cargo cabin. If two pets are less than six months old, both can be accommodated in the same carrier. Only the owner will be responsible for feeding their pets during the flight.

Alaska Airlines Dog Policy

Alaska Airlines allows you to bring your dog to your seat if your dog's size & weight are not more than the maximum limit. You must visit the airport if you want to fly with your dog. Airlines do not allow you to book online. You must contact Alaska Airlines' sales team 10 days before departure. If you want to travel with a pet, you will need Alaska pet policy' approval. 

  • Your dog must be clean.
  • It should be over eight years old.  
  • Submit pet medical reports to the airline.
  • Without airline approval, you can not carry your pet. 
  • You should arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before the departure.
  •  Feed up your dog before the departure.
  • The maximum combined size of the dog and carrier must be 17 x 11 x 9 inches.

Restrictions on Alaska Airlines Pet In Cabin

Only certain pets are eligible to travel on flights with their owners. Only dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and hamsters are allowed on the Alaska Airlines flight. There are a few restrictions for cabin pets that you should keep in mind:

  • Dangerous breeds are not allowed on this flight.
  • Sick pets are not allowed.
  • Your pet's medical reports should be negative.  
  • Online pet reservation is not allowed.
  • Less than 8 weeks old pets are not allowed.
  • Only two pets are permitted in cabin class.
  • Carrier size should not be more than 17 x 11 x 9.5 inches.
  • A 100-dollar fee is mandatory for every passenger. 
  • Pet temperature should not be more than 30 degrees Celsius. 

Alaska Airlines Pet Fee

You must pay a pet fee, as Alaska Airlines charges a pet fee for security purposes. The pet fee is approx 100 dollars. If your pet is adjusted in cabin class, you will have to pay 100 dollars and 150 dollars for a baggage compartment. Pet fees will be only accepted at the airport. The pet fee will be imposed each way. Without paying a fee, you can not travel with your pet.

  • In Cabin class: 150 dollars.
  • In Cargo: 150-200 dollars
